A Message
from Lord Dear, Chairman of the Trustees
The special facilities for the kind of rehabilitation
required by police officers today are available
at Flint House in the Thames Valley and you can read about them on this web site.
The Police Rehabilitation Centre serves the needs of all police
officers - men and women - from 29 constabularies in
England and Wales. It seeks to restore injured officers
to full health as quickly as possible and so enable
them to return to normal duties.
The purchase, conversion and extension of Flint House
required very considerable funding (for which there
was no government grant support). The Police Rehabilitation
Trust contributed substantially for this purpose and has since provided for the subsequent development and refurbishment programme at Flint House. The Trust must sustain its commitment to the Police Rehabilitation Centre.
Supporting the work of the Police Rehabilitation Trust
offers us also an opportunity to express gratitude and
appreciation for a devotion to duty which too often
results in horrifying injuries and severe mental stress.
I do urge you to support the Trust as generously as
you possibly can because the need for its work remains
great and is really most important.
